Story about a black stray dog
I saw a black stray dog loitering opposite a pet farm along Pasir Ris. Shower came in a sudden on an ordinary Sunday afternoon. With no brolly in hand, I had no choice but to hide under a tree in order not to get drenched.
I felt I share the same fate with this black doggy. The only difference is he got a bigger shade, as he’s smart enough to hide himself under the lush dense bushes.
We both got doused while waiting for the rain to fade away. I thank my God as the shower slowly subsided. My little friend came out from the bush and look around suspiciously checking left and right making sure the rain has stopped and at the same time looking out for Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority (AVA) who might be stalking him.
Not long after, he started his new journey and I started mine…
This is a stray that I met opposite the pet farm where pups are bought home for love and pampering. For him, no one notices his existence. Would anyone bother to care for him and shower him with love forever…?
Green green grass of home
We all live in a house where floor is in leafy green, ceiling in vast blue.
Wall paintings are either sun or moon.
No walls, no wars and no rooms!
We are all lived in the green green grass of home.
We are tiny but we cater for many…
We are the stars of the Eco Galaxy.
We believe humbleness.
We believe simplicity.
We believe austerity.
We believe accommodation.
We believe, we are not the only frail one who swaying in the wind.
We believe we take equal share, whether the sun is big or small, cause we all lived on the same land!
Two rare scene happen in one day Pt 2 – A moth
I saw a moth landed on the wall outside my apartment. It’s about 10 inches in length from wing to wing and dark brown in color. I’m not sure it scientific name, a moth I could only call. I’m fast enough to take a shot of it and stood still to see what is going to happen to it next.
I’ve expected it to fly off as it may be terrified by the sound of my hand phone’s shutter. But he chooses to stay. Continue his calm flagging show, opening and closing his wings calmly in placid movement.
Some believe moth came from darkness; symbolized bad luck. While some believed they were incarnated from our pass away relatives. When a person passed away, he’ll return home as a moth on the seventh day of his passing to visit his family.
I’m not certain about the origin of this belief, but the appearance of this species does contribute some points of mystery. It’s just like the bat and his loyal vampire fan.
This is our rare meet-up, it has come to a point that I can’t bear to kick it away though it doesn’t look as charming as the butterfly.
To me, this is a beautiful moment, we happened to meet up at this junction of life. Though we were brought up in different world but we happened to be on the same path. What can be more magical?
We are captains of our boat. At this moment of time, we share the same wave, and an eternal one…
Two rare scene happen in one day Pt1 – Rainbow Bridge
I happen to look up the sky after a rainfall sun set, it wakes me up by a stun. I saw a rainbow right above me! It’s a primary rainbow, I believe. Not a very contrasting one but it’s real. I keep an eye on it trying hard not to blink my eyes… It doesn’t make sense to others, they said after all it’s just a rainbow. Nothing big deal! To me, it’s big and larger than a mountain ‘cause it’s unpredictable and nature’s phenomenon.
I got my bread and butter to go after, a desktop job enough for me to lay my head down for whole day. The chances to raise up my head are equally low. Rain is not rare in this tropical land, but to invite a sunbeam passing through the vapors and cast itself on a blue curtain sky at the same time to capture the eyes of its admirer is rare indeed!
So in the end, I didn’t move my eyes away from the charming bridge just like not allowing the sun to go down on me.
Many a time, we appreciate a show for a while by adding enviable comments and move on with our journey. But this time, I managed to finished the whole movie right from the beginning to the end, as I’m not sure when will be the next return. It could take him a decade or one’s lifetime! Considering that, I enjoyed the sweetness and the joy given by this heavenly arc.
This is my first rare approach of the day; it’s charming enough to secure my other wishes…
11) Spending a week with Miss Coco
When Miss Coco gets ready to pack up and go home, I left all her belonging on the sofa, and she seems strange to me.
She sat quietly by her belongings and stayed at the corner for hours without her usual jumping up and down and wriggling her tail seeking for hugs. This is unusual scene, it reminded me of the song by John Denver “I’m leaving`on the jet plane”. When a new journey is beginning, there may be something you can’t bear to leave behind.
Coco needs special diet advised by her vet. So, pan fried pork with potatoes and beans are must for her daily two meals. Whenever I am preparing her meal, Coco will not be the one sitting on my feet but it is our greedy Cougar instead.
She stayed away from me not because of my cooking style but because of this clumsy monster (Mr Cougar) trying to dash for the first hand meal.
When I’m done with the meal, I have to segregate the two by using the timber gate. Cougar will try to force his way through the gate for a bite of the meat. I have to deter him and at the same time cajole Miss Coco to sit tight, enjoy her meal without worries. Miss Coco will munch her meal bit by bit just like enjoying herself in a posh restaurant. While she maintain her civilized personality, she enjoyed the ‘lion roar’ at the same time behind the wooden gate.
This little princess is different from my rugged Mr Cougar. One so rough, the other so gentle. One is a rugby player, the other one a ballet dancer.
That is why when she knew she’s returning home, she started guarding her belongings and waited for her owner to arrive. This is the only reason I could figure out.
Man best friends undoubtedly have strong senses. She may be able to sense her owner 10 miles away who can’t wait to fly home soon to see her. Or she may be feeling glad she is leaving us soon…
Whatever is her reason, I thanked her for spending her time with us. The 7 days is not a long time but the memory is going to be forever.
Lastly, Miss Coco allowed me to have her picture posted without copyrights.

10) Wishes in Lunar New Year
Today is the first day of Chinese New Year. I managed to set up a simple offer to the Lord of Heaven.
These fruits and Nian Gao – New Year cake are to show my appreciation for the past one year in Safe and Healthy condition.
And also, thank you divine, protect me for the past one year.
Hope that in this coming 2013, I’ll be able to learn how to cherish simple food, knowing more about gratitude,
looking more things at the bright side!
And finally, peace in the mind, peace in the world!
9) Sydney is out for lunar party fun again!
Tonight is Lunar New Year Eve. Sydney is out for party fun again! In tradition believes, you must find someone to be with you in reunion night.
If not you’ll be stay alone forever!
Omg! How can Sydney do that to me?
In fact, I got something to plan for myself.
I have actually invite one of my girl friend to be my dancing partner tonight!
Let me proudly introduce to you, my girl friend! CoCo!
We are going to open champagne and toast it up!
Shall we start dancing and Karaoke No More lonely night?
Forget about Sydney’s lame story!
Forget about that grasshopper!
Let’s dance like a lion and wishing everybody Happy Chinese New year!
8) Why I want to break free?
Today, Sydney arrived home saw me waiting in the gate that half opened.
He asked me how did you do that?
I replied, “I didn’t do it!”
Then he saw the Bakkwa that hang on the chair earlier this morning. Now it seems like half way hanging in the air.
He asked me again “who did that?”
I said, “The bird!”
I kept my close attention quietly of where he kept the Bakkwa and plan for my next strategy!
Bakkwa jerky (Sweet BBQ pork) is a must buy food for festive season. It is lean meat that has been trimmed off fat then marinates it and BBQ. This is world wide culinary delicacy; the names “Bakkwa” arise from teow chew dialect, literally means dry pork.
Bakkwa’s taste is awesome, I know! Is all written on Sydney face last night!
For that, I’ll never give up; break free for my lovely Bakkwa!

7) What is the most atmosphere for CNY?
I’m looking for something but it is not on this red withering flower.
Hairy caterpillars say, wait for me to grow up, I’ll tell you!
He said, for the time being offer you a mini mandarin orange.
Or a deep pocket with full itinerary.
What about a blessing to carry along?
Let’s make it double!
Or let the water snake stick by you whole year through!
And come in a pair!
Note: One blogger mentioned to me earlier that CNY atmosphere is diminishing. I totally agree with this! We know we can’t change the way it is but on the other hand putting some thought and effort can change the way you perceive it.
This year is a year that is graceful to me. Being able to spend my time blogging and sharing my thoughts with the world. I feel I have created the atmosphere for myself and it lives in my heart.
This is the most memorable year I had!
6) I saw my parents this morning
To day, my family and me spent half a day doing prayer to my ancestors and deceased parents. The little Buddhist temple located at Paya Lebar road, where tranquil and serenity lived.
This is the place for holding the prayer for the deceased and the tablets. My parents are somewhere at the left near the front.
But strangely, I couldn’t see them!
I walked to the back yard, saw a young papaya tree waved and said hello to me.
And walked further, asked Phalaenopsis,” where are my parents?”
She just smiled at me in return.
I asked the pearl drop, do you know where are my dearest parents?
I approached the aging bench.
I feel a balmy and gentle hand pat on my shoulder, and I looked up.
I saw daylight resting on the leaves. I saw them!
Dad and Mom said:” son, not to worry about us! We have friends, many friends here! You should take good care of yourself and live meaningfully each day!”
I kept nodding in sob.
Raindrops witnessed and shared with me this moment.
My dearest Dad and Mom, I missed you!
