Yesterday, I was selected to be the top 10 finalists by Omy Singapore Blog Awards 2013, under “EXABYTES BEST INDIVIDUAL” Categories.
This is surprise to me!
I know I’m special but not to the extend will stand out from the rest of the shinning stars.
I’ll take it as a learning process, a good result is a extra bonus.
Today, is already a blossome day!

One night in Phor Kark See Temple
Today is Vesak Day. I jointed the volunteer group of Phor Kark See Temple to help up in selling drinks. By entering the side of the temple, there are gorgeous lotus deco being lightens up.
In “3 Steps, 1 Bow” ceremony, devotees circumambulate the perimeter of the temple, taking every 3 steps and one bow, while chanting the name of the Buddha. This event started on Vesak Day eve at 10pm until the actual day morning 7am.
Thousand of lanterns lighten up every corner of the temple.
In the Hall of Great Compassion, devotees queuing to pay respect to Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva.
On the other hands , “3 steps, 1 Bow” ceremony still going on and on every single minutes.
Cart stores selling Buddhism related things are overwhelming with crown and heats.
Little Buddhas are happily smiling to us.
Comfort foods are serving for free thru out the whole Vesak Day event.
This picture was captured in the morning 8am, a woman pushing her Granny- I guess, has shown virtues thru out, until the end of the ceremony.
And this is the time for the lotus awakening.
When sky is blue
When sky is blue, we all gather around kick off the Monday blue.

Another story about my mom and me
Down on memory lane, I recalled having high fever at the age of nine. Mom tried keeping the temperature down by using a straw fan. That was close to midnight, the lights was off but her hand was still moving. The cool breeze did not stop my heart from moving too. I told mom, “It’s alright, I’m fine, don’t have to worry about me..”
I saw tears welling in her eyes, even though the room was dark, but I could feel her sobbing in the darkness.
Till today, I can recalled the moment we touched each others heart so much. So much so that the offer of her un-returnable warm light keeps beaming. Just like the rising sun, giving us warm without asking for any returns. Treat your mother well; treat mother’s nature well.

A road where a $10 memories are left behind – A gift for all mothers
This is an ordinary road behind my old house next to Canossian Eduplex.
I grow up here since I was an infant. When I was young, my family was not so well-off as my dad was the only sole breadwinner of the family. He worked as a carpenter to sustain a family of eight, this is tough with no further explanations.
For this reason, my mom had to do part time jobs to make ends meet. She did this by fetching and sending neighbour’s kids to schools. Getting a side income of $20 per month is better than nothing.
One day, she gave me $10 out of her precious $20. I was told that was my pocket money. Without much words, I saw an angel full of wriggles stand right in front of me!
It has been more than 30 years. Since then, this ordinary road has never been an ordinary road to me. Till to-date, my angel mom still leave me with so many memories that is priceless.
Today, I step on this gentle ground, seeing things remain unchanged. The rows of landed property; the roadside concrete drain that are over flow with wild plants; an authentic sport ground and most importantly and yearns for my beloved mom. For some, hearts and feelings may have changed. To me, my affection for that moment will forever remained.
Mother’s Day is around the corner. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all mothers. You are the greatest person in the world! Thank you for being the angel shading over your loveable kids with infinite love.

We need a friend, and you’ve got a friend.
This is a group of friends I get to know during my language enhancement course the year before. We got a chance to get around this Chinese New Year. Snap some photos after our meals. The treat is awesome but the gathering is even better than anything on the table.
We need friends all the time, we all know. Especially, the unsurmountable bond that we has shared, it can’t even be measured through times. Friends are not only beneficial to our well being, exchanging of ideas and care are just as important. So, I always make an effort to call or message my friends to see how they are doing and it’s purely out of my hearty concern.
I’m glad I got to know these few classmates through this path of my life. What has brought us together is just like what has brought us on this earth. Be it for a reason or not, it’s not important to know. The crucial point is we have been through the fun and have come a long way through the course structure. It’s just like a curvy stream, it’s cooling and smiley as a whole.
That goes the same as the law of nature. We need water and care for the green. Do not discard the withered, when the leaves turn yellow. Not capturing the best side of all, but the ups and downs in fact. That makes life more vibrant.
An eye for a rising sun
We can’t use our naked eyes to stare at the sun; but only a glimpse or a peep is good enough to charge up the battery for our daily usage.

Story about a white Samoyed
This lovely female white Samoyed named “Dou Dou” is a 1-year old abandoned by her owner. Her new owner, an old lady owns a little floral nursery along Pasir Ris. She took over the ownership of Dou Dou a week ago.
A week ago, a man came to her and asked her to adopt Dou Dou, she told me in a delightful tone. The man claimed that they just have a second child and he has another dog besides Dou Dou. He knew that the old lady is a trusting and loving person and so he decided to offer Dou Dou to her. With his words, I believed this man has been observing the old lady for a while and he’s left with no choice but to entrust the lovely pet to her.
The lady accepted Dou Dou from the bottom of her heart. For the first few days, Dou Dou refuse to eat as she must have been missing her previous owner and feeling homesick. She looses weight. With love of her new owner, she started to adapt to the new environment and walk around happily.
I managed to carry her in my arm. By my judgment, she is about 20kg! The weight of this little angel is the combination of the lady’s tender loving care and the patting of visitors. These help to bring back the smile on this white angel’s face.
