Where was your 1st Ice Cream born?

Singapore Cold Storage Company was the 1st supermarket that manufactured ice cream in 1923. The local oldest supermarket set up in 1903, its first Cold Storage Supermarket open in the 1930s on Orchard road.
So, can you imagine how difficult to get a stick of ice cream in the olden day?

Oh yes, ice cream was very difficult to obtain in olden days — even the days of my own small childhood! We spent our summers then in a cottage community that had no electricity. Long after we had refrigerators in the city, we still had ice boxes in this community — and when we wanted ice cream, we had to hand crank the ingredients until they turned into ice cream. After all that work, the ice cream was always a HUGE treat.
