Story about a black stray dog

I saw a black stray dog loitering opposite a pet farm along Pasir Ris.  Shower came in a sudden on an ordinary Sunday afternoon.  With no brolly in hand, I had no choice but to hide under a tree in order not to get drenched.

I felt I share the same fate with this black doggy.  The only difference is he got a bigger shade, as he’s smart enough to hide himself under the lush dense bushes.

We both got doused while waiting for the rain to fade away.  I thank my God as the shower slowly subsided.  My little friend came out from the bush and look around suspiciously checking left and right making sure the rain has stopped and at the same time looking out for Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority (AVA) who might be stalking him.

Not long after, he started his new journey and I started mine…

This is a stray that I met opposite the pet farm where pups are bought home for love and pampering.  For him, no one notices his existence.  Would anyone bother to care for him and shower him with love forever…?

  1. Too, too sad for this little doggy, Sydney…

  2. yes!! I immediately worry about him–whether he got food that day, and if he is cold. You better rescue him, Sydney. (I love term: brolly, BTW’s–it is too cute!!) Great photos!

  3. These chance encounters do tug at the heartstrings.

  4. If I were there, I certainly would. Poor thing. Very sad.

  5. Sad. Sending out good thoughts for that poor fury friend.

  6. Don’t feel bad, maybe he is like some of us humans…solitary creature. I have seen people “rescue” stray dogs only to have the dog miserable and long for his freedom, and they usually take off for the hills the first chance they get. It’s like taking a bird and shoving it in a cage when all it really wants to do is fly free.

  7. He will be fine ,Sydney , let’s just believe (and hope) so !

People don’t often adopt big or marure pets I should say , It will take a long time to build the relationship , and in some cases when the animal had been through too much in the past (violence from the previous owner for example), s/he may tend to loose faith in human

Life forces him to be stronger to survive , we may think “what a poor doggie” , then we wanna adopt him, to give him a home , but will he give us any chance ? or he finds his life is quite ok , hard but happy ? who knows :) Anyway, wish him well ^ – ^

  8. Awe, poor baby! Looks like someone needs to love and spoil him. It breaks my heart to see pets or animals who have been abandoned and left to fend for themselves… : (

    • As what Blogger yinyin said, they have the way for surviving!
But I hope he wouldn’t take down by AVA and put to sleep…
That is the most unwanted thing I don’t like to see! :(

  9. We will all send him good wishes, and someone will pick him up and care for him. I just have a feeling he will be okay.
