10) No More Male Pallbearers

Grave yard in Newbury

An elderly woman died last month.
Having never married, she requested no male pallbearers.
In her handwritten instructions for her memorial service,
she wrote, ‘They wouldn’t take me out while I was alive,
I don’t want them to take me out when I’m dead.’

  1. that´s consistent.

  2. I don’t feel sorry for her Sydney – She lived her way and had her say. She is a woman of humour even in the face of her certain death. ;)

  3. Here’s the beauty of speaking about dead people…nothing offends them! ;)

  4. How funny! We probably get our way more in death than in life. Think I will make my list of wants.

  5. At first it was sad to me, but after thinking about it, it was funny!

  6. I like her request. Nothing better then a honest woman. Even in death. Thank you for sharing.

  7. Consistency is the new sexy.

  8. Bless her heart, that’s hilarious!

  9. Love this joke! She’s totally right.

  10. Oh that is so great. Not that she didn’t get to go out if that’s what she wished, but that she had the humor and grace to get her point across. A woman of strength as well as humor is a rare woman indeed. Too bad the guys let her slip by because of her looks or independence. Great post! :D
